Toffifee – Torte

Toffifee Torte Recipe:

Ingredients:

For the Cake:

  • 250g (2 cups) all-purpose flour
  • 200g (1 cup) granulated sugar
  • 150g (2/3 cup) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 120ml (1/2 cup) milk

For the Filling:

  • 200g (1 cup) chocolate hazelnut spread (Nutella or similar)
  • 200ml (3/4 cup) heavy cream
  • 200g (1 1/2 cups) chopped Toffifee candies

For the Topping:

  • 150g (1 cup) chocolate ganache (made from 100g dark chocolate and 50ml heavy cream)
  • Additional Toffifee candies for decoration

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease and line two 8-inch round cake pans with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Begin and end with the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and smooth the tops with a spatula.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. For the filling, heat the heavy cream until it just begins to simmer. Pour it over the chocolate hazelnut spread in a bowl and whisk until smooth. Let it cool to room temperature.
  10. Once the cakes are completely cooled, spread the chocolate hazelnut filling evenly over one of the cake layers. Sprinkle the chopped Toffifee candies on top.
  11. Place the second cake layer on top and press down gently.
  12. For the topping, make the chocolate ganache by melting the dark chocolate and mixing it with the heated heavy cream. Pour the ganache over the top of the cake, allowing it to drip down the sides.
  13. Decorate the top with additional Toffifee candies.
  14. Allow the ganache to set before slicing and serving.
