Ingredients:
For the Goulash:
- 500g turkey breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 bell peppers, diced (any color)
- 2 tablespoons sweet paprika
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 200ml chicken broth
- 200ml heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
For the Ribbon Noodles:
- 400g ribbon noodles
- Salt for boiling water
Instructions:
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and cook until they become translucent.
- Add the minced garlic and turkey pieces to the pot. Cook until the turkey is browned on all sides.
- Stir in the diced bell peppers, sweet paprika, caraway seeds, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes to let the flavors meld.
- Sprinkle the flour over the turkey and vegetable mixture, stirring constantly to coat everything evenly. This will help thicken the goulash.
- Pour in the chicken broth, heavy cream, and tomato paste. Stir well to combine and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let the goulash simmer for about 30-40 minutes, or until the turkey is tender and the flavors have melded.
- While the goulash is simmering, cook the ribbon noodles according to the package instructions in a separate pot of salted boiling water. Drain and set aside.
- Once the goulash is done, adjust the seasoning if necessary. If the sauce is too thick, you can add a bit more chicken broth or cream to achieve your desired consistency.
- Serve the turkey cream goulash over the cooked ribbon noodles. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley.
