It’s extremely hard to find the difference between this burrito pie and lasagna. 

So today we have something very exciting on the menu, something you probably haven’t seen before, it’s a burrito pie. Yes it’s a burrito pie that’s right.  Burrito filling, puff pastry  combined together makes a burrito pie insanely delicious. A small warning for people that hate spicy food, cause it’s a sure thing it will be super spicy, the mexican style. 

This recipe is absolutely bonkers. But trust us, it works! Delicious, warming burrito filling, wrapped in astonishing, flakey puff pastry. The burrito pie is perfect for having some people over or a family gathering! You may be skeptical. But give it a go and I guarantee you and they’ll love it. 


  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 can black olives, sliced
  • 1 can diced green chili peppers
  • 1 can of tomatoes with green chile peppers
  • 1  jar taco sauce
  • 2 cans refried beans
  • 12 flour tortillas
  • 9 ounces shredded Colby cheese

Directions : 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Saute your ground beef for about 5 minutes in a large skillet over medium heat, then add tge garlic and onion and saute for 5 more minutes. 
  • If your not a big fan of fat or on a diet, drain any excess fat,
  • Next, Mix in all together the green chile peppers, olives, tomatoes, taco sauce and your  refried beans. 
  • Reduce your heat to low and let simmer for about 20 minutes. and Stir mixture thoroughly.
  • Spread a thin layer of the meat mixture in the bottom of a 4 quart casserole dish. Cover with a layer of tortillas followed by more meat mixture, then a layer of cheese. Repeat tortilla, meat, cheese pattern until all your tortillas are used, topp it with a layer of meat mixture and cheese.
  • Place it in your preheated oven and let it Bake for 20 to 30 minutes or until the cheese is slightly brown and bubbly.

Up with some sour cream, guacamole would be perfect. Olives, a little more salsa on top, whatever you desire.

One thing I’m sure of, it’s delicious just like it is.
