For the Base:

- 3 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch

- 1 can (approx. 400g) mandarin oranges, drained
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions:
- Prepare the Base:
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, cold butter cubes, sugar, and a pinch of salt.
- Use your fingers or a pastry cutter to blend the ingredients until they resemble coarse crumbs.
- Add the egg and knead the mixture until it forms a smooth dough.
- Press the dough into the bottom of a greased or parchment-lined rectangular baking pan.
- Bake the Base:
- Bake the base in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until it turns golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
- Prepare the Quark Filling:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the Quark, sugar, vanilla extract, eggs, and cornstarch.
- Whisk until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Assemble and Bake:
- Pour the Quark mixture over the cooled base, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes or until the Quark filling is set and has a golden color.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool.
- Add the Mandarin Topping:
- Once the Quark-Schnitten have cooled, arrange the drained mandarin oranges on top.
- Refrigerate the dessert for at least 2 hours or until fully chilled.
- Serve:
- Dust the top with powdered sugar just before serving.
